Shahrzad (Sami) Marvasti

Creative Director

Sami is a creative dynamo with a giant heart and a lively imagination. She oversees the creative process at Blue, working with the consultants, design team, and project managers. With over 20 years of graphic design experience — including 14 with an advertising agency — she takes ideas and words and turns them into images, layouts and campaigns targeted to each specific audience. Sami displays a mastery of design styles, simple to complex, and has a special flair for brand development. She has been the Creative Director for many of Blue’s 80+ communications awards, including five Gold Quills, Best Internal Communications Campaign (ABA), and Internal Communications Program of the Year (IBA).

Julie Francis

Art Director

Julie loves a creative challenge. That’s probably because she excels at generating new ideas and concepts and developing designs that speak to employees. With over 25 years of experience, Julie has managed and created visual communication projects for a wide range of clients — from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups — and continues to develop award-winning campaigns for Blue clients. She can look at a design and quickly determine proper balance, weight, color, typeface and content. Julie thrives on collaborating with smart, resourceful people to bring exciting new thinking and fresh approaches to the work. She keeps that creativity flowing while hitting schedule and budget demands.

Amy Schwartz

Graphic Designer

Amy is organized, creative and computer savvy, and uses those skills and her 18 years of experience to achieve a vision and communicate it. She specializes in page layout and bold graphic designs, but also enjoys the playful and whimsical. Amy understands current design trends, and stays up to date with advancements in graphic technology. She loves creating — starting with a blank page and making something aesthetically interesting and clearly communicated. Amy enjoys initial brainstorming sessions — throwing around ideas, no matter how crazy, and finding something brilliant. She knows the most important part of design is interpreting the client needs.

Elaine Trussell

Production Coordinator

Elaine has been juggling production schedules, cost analysis and quality control to produce superior communications on deadline and on budget for over 30 years. Working closely with external suppliers and internal designers, she plans, directs and executes Blue’s projects — both on paper and online. She is dependable and excels at sourcing the right vendor for the right job. Formerly with Towers Watson, Elaine is the winner of several IABC Gold and Silver Quill Awards, as well as a Maggie Award for directories and guides. She enjoys working in a challenging and productive environment, and has dedicated her career to excellence.
